After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Photography B.Sc., Skarjune worked in publishing as a photographer, graphic designer, journalist, writer, and editor for publications including TIME Magazine, Print, Star Tribune, Saint Paul Dispatch, City Pages, Minnesota Daily, ArtPaper, Advisor Media & Public Art Review. As an Information Technology professional he worked and consulted for major companies including Best Buy, UnitedHealth Group, and Personnel Decisions International. He taught digital design and development at Dunwoody College of Technology. In recent years he has focused on public service work in web communications for organizations including the Minnesota AIDS Project and the Minnesota State Arts Board.
Activities
Skarjune currently works at Windustry
as Online Community Builder promoting progressive renewable
energy solutions to empower communities to develop and own
wind energy as an environmentally sustainable asset. He
also provides pro bono services to nonprofit organizations
including Liberation
Park and Common
Ground Meditation Center.
